Women's Basketball Seeks Second Straight Win While Playing Host to Loras

Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball will seek to earn its second straight win while playing host to Loras on Saturday.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan snapped a four game losing streak and earned its first conference victory of the season in last Saturday's 64-59 win over Dubuque. The Prairie Wolves sit at 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the American Rivers Conference. The Black and Gold average 60.1 points per game and shoot 36.9 percent from the field. Anastyn Pettlon leads a talented offense that features three players that average at least 10 points per game. Pettlon averages 13.2 points per game, while fellow sophomore Brynn Sebek averages 11.2. Peyton Tritz ranks third at 10.6 points per game. Carney Black is another efficient offensive weapon, averaging 8.5 points per contest, while also leading the team with 123 rebounds. As a team, the Prairie Wolves have tallied 491 rebounds. Defensively, NWU allows 67.3 points per game and has recorded 154 steals, 23 blocked shots. Maddie Demke has posted 31 steals, while Carney Black has blocked 10 shots.

POTENTIAL FIRST
On Saturday, Nebraska Wesleyan has the opportunity to do something it has not done since joining the A-R-C in 2016: Defeat both Loras and Dubuque at home in the same season. Last Saturday, the Prairie Wolves defeated the University of Dubuque 64-59, behind a double digit efforts from Brynn Sebek, Anastyn Pettlon, Carney Black and Alison Davis

SCOUTING LORAS
Loras enters this week 5-10 overall and 1-5 in the American Rivers Conference. Prior to facing NWU, Loras will visit Luther on Wednesday, January 14th. The Duhawks average 60.1 points per game and allow 61.4 points per game. Loras is led by Justin Busch.
