Lincoln, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis was bested by Dubuque, 4-3, Saturday morning. Nebraska Wesleyan is now 1-5 on the season, while Dubuque improves to 7-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nebraska Wesleyan swept Dubuque in doubles play, with Crystal Craft and Caitlin Hudson earning a dominant 6-0 victory over Dubuque's pair of Molly Jex and and Sarah Wilde in #1 doubles.Parker Brown and Kylie Engelsmann followed up with a 6-2 victory in two doubles. In #3 doubles, Gracey Smith and Jayna Erickson secured a doubles sweep, defeating Kadia Cole and Maddie Brosnahan 6-2.
After Crystal Craft was defeated in #1 singles, Kylie Engelsman battled back from a 6-1 set one loss to claim the point with a 6-2 set two win, before claiming a tight set three, 10-8. Parker Brown and Jayna Erickson were dealt defeats in #3 and #4 singles, but Gracey Smith took care of business in #5 singles defeating Maddie Brosnahan 6-2. Sylvia Kamradt would go on to lose in #6 singles in two sets.
