LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior forward Jack Groeteke has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District IX All-District Second Team, as announced by the organization Tuesday. The honor recognizes Groeteke's standout performance during the 2024-25 season, as voted on by NCAA Division III coaches within the district.
Groeteke, a 6'11" forward from Johnston, Iowa, led the Prairie Wolves in scoring (14.5 ppg), and blocks (59) this season. He recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Wisconsin La-Crosse. Groeteke shot 49.3% from the field and 88.6% from the free-throw line, cementing himself as one of the most efficient players in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).
A key contributor to Nebraska Wesleyan's 20-7 record and A-R-C Tournament championship appearance, Groeteke scored in double figures in 23 of 27 games, with three performances of 20+ points. He also re-broke his single season school records for blocks this season, averaging 2.2 per game.
The NABC's District IX includes programs from Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. This marks his first NABC All-District honor, adding to his growing list of accolades, including First Team All-A-R-C and A-R-C Defensive Player of the Year.
Groeteke's career totals now include 1,062 points, 485 rebounds, and 112 blocks in 109 games (59 starts).
The NABC All-District teams are part of the organization's efforts to recognize the best men's basketball players across all NCAA divisions. District IX is one of 10 geographic regions in the updated alignment model, which groups schools by state rather than conference.
