FREMONT, NEB. – The Nebraska Wesleyan University men's and women's golf teams both finished in sixth place at the Nebraska Intercollegiate, held at the Fremont Country Club from October 6-7. The men's team, competing in a JV event, faced off against eight total teams, while the women's team competed against seven.
Highlighting the tournament, Brayden Schram tied the school record for the 36-hole total with an impressive score of 138. Schram shot a remarkable -5 (66) on day two, just one stroke off the round school record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The men's team finished with a total score of 613, 45-over par, after rounds of 314 and 299. Schram's stellar performance earned him the championship title after winning a playoff, with scores of one-over par (72) and five-under par (66). Grant Corey contributed significantly, tying for 24th place with scores of 81 and 75. Reid Styskal was just one stroke back, finishing in a tie for 27th with a total of 157 (79-78). Matias Casal and Jakob Cadwallder rounded out the men's team with 36-hole totals of 163 and 171, respectively.
On the women's side, O'Brasia Amos led the team with a solid performance, finishing 23rd with scores of 88 and 97 for a total of 185. Lauren Hays followed closely in 25th place with a total of 191 (94-97), while Haley Blackstone secured 26th with scores of 100 and 95 (195). Shea Meridith rounded out the women's team, finishing 32nd with a total of 213 (109-104).
