LINCOLN, Neb. (September 28, 2024) – Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer faced a 3-1 defeat against Luther College on Saturday afternoon at Abel Stadium. The Prairie Wolves put up a strong effort but were unable to overcome the Norse, falling to 5-4-0 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Luther College struck first in the 8th minute when Javier Pastor Valls scored, putting the Norse ahead 1-0. The Norse added another goal in the 20th minute, extending the lead to 2-0 before halftime.
Nebraska Wesleyan responded in the second half when Morgan Armagost converted a penalty kick in the 81st minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1. However, just two minutes later, Pastor Valls scored his second goal of the game to secure the victory for Luther.
Goalkeeper Zachary Weis made six saves to keep NWU within reach, but the Prairie Wolves couldn't find an equalizer before the final whistle.
