WAVERLY, Iowa (September 28, 2024) – Nebraska Wesleyan football faced a tough 34-0 defeat against Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon at Walston-Hoover Stadium. The Prairie Wolves were stumped offensively and were unable to get on the scoreboard, falling to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in American Rivers Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Wartburg took an early lead, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter to put Wartburg ahead 14-0. Wartburg added two more touchdowns in the second quarter, including a 7-yard pass and an interception return for a score, making it 27-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Wartburg extended their lead with a 2-yard rushing touchdown to cap off a 10-play, 75-yard drive. Despite some strong defensive moments, the Prairie Wolves were unable to generate any offense, and the score remained 34-0 at the final whistle.
