Football Set for A-R-C Road Clash at Wartburg

LINCOLN, Neb. (September 27th, 2024) - After a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over Mayville State last weekend, Nebraska Wesleyan is set to open American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on the road against Wartburg College.

LOCATION, GAME TIME, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Kickoff for Saturday's game between the Prairie Wolves and Knights is set for 1:00 p.m. at Walston-Hoover Field in Waverly, Iowa. Wartburg will live stream the game and carry live stats. 

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan (1-1, 0-0 A-R-C) defeated Mayville State, 34-24, in their previous outing. Leading the offense is sophomore quarterback Connor White, who has thrown five touchdowns to five different receivers over two games. Running back Trystin Myers made a crucial impact against Mayville State, scoring a 44-yard touchdown run late in the game to seal the win. The Prairie Wolves are averaging 29.5 points per game but will look to tighten up defensively, having allowed 32.5 points per contest.

HEAD COACH BRIAN KELLER PROFILE
In his 29th season, Brian Keller is the winningest coach in NWU history, with a career record of 130-135. Keller's impressive résumé includes a share of the 2000 GPAC championship, 39 All-Conference players since NWU's move to Division III, and 46 All-Americans.

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN FOOTBALL TRADITION
The Prairie Wolves' football tradition stretches back to 1896, boasting over 500 wins and 22 conference championships. Academically, NWU ranks seventh among all football programs for CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

A-R-C ROAD OPENER
This is the fourth time since joining the American Rivers Conference that NWU will begin conference play on the road. They hold a 1-2 record in those matchups and will look to even the score against Wartburg.

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
Wartburg enters the matchup with a 2-1 record after a defensive 10-6 victory over Central College. Now in his fourth season, head coach Chris Winter has led the Knights to success, with a disciplined defense and balanced offense.
