LINCOLN, Neb. (April 13, 2024) - The Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team finished the series against Coe College on Saturday afternoon. The Kohawks took both games,12-3 and 30-13.
GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coe took an early lead in the first inning, scoring two runs, 0-2.
- The Kohawks extended their lead in the second and third inning, 0-4.
- Nebraska Wesleyan's offense took off in the bottom of the fourth, earning one run off of a defensive mishap by Coe, 1-4.
- After six innings of play, the Prairie Wolves trailed 2-9.
- In the bottom of the eighth inning, Chazin reached first on a throwing error, scoring Thomas Fiocchi from third, 3-10.
- The Kohawks got their final two runs late in the ninth inning, securing their win with a final score of 12-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Kohawks took the offensive lead right off the bat, scoring 10 runs in the first inning. The P-Wolves were able to trim their deficit after hits by Evan Kling and Owen Machal earned three runs. The score after the first inning was 3-10.
- A home run by Brayden Scholfield gave NWU one more run in the third inning to make the score 4-18.
- Devin Lawler, Carter Bjorkman, and Owen Machal, and Nick Roghair helped the Prairie Wolves bring in six runners, making the score 10-18 in the fourth inning.
- Nebraska Wesleyan responded by scoring two more runs in the fifth, including a double by Cody Heidenreich to make the score 12-27.
- A home run by Jack Carver was the final run for the P-Wolves. Game 3 concluded with a final score of 13-30.
