(October 5th, 2024) - The Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves Women's Soccer team faced a tough challenge against the undefeated and nationally ranked Loras Duhawks on October 5th, 2024, suffering a 4-0 defeat at Rock Bowl Stadium. The loss brought Nebraska Wesleyan's record to (5-6-1, 0-1-1 A-R-C) while Loras improved to (11-0, 2-0 A-R-C).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Loras wasted no time, scoring in the opening minute of play. The Duhawks kept the pressure on, and added a second goal in the 23rd minute with a header. A penalty kick in the 29th minute extended Loras' lead to 3-0 as Nebraska Wesleyan struggled to break through the Duhawks' stout defense, managing just two shots in the first half.
Loras maintained their momentum in the second half, with Savannah Johnson completing her hat trick in the 48th minute. Despite strong defensive efforts by Nebraska Wesleyan's goalkeeper, Jena Schultz, who recorded 11 saves, the Prairie Wolves were unable to mount a comeback.
