Prairie Wolves Secure 3-0 Victory Over Central

PELLA, Iowa (October 26, 2024) – Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer clinched a decisive 3-0 win against Central College at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex. The Prairie Wolves improved to 10-6-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the American Rivers Conference, while the Dutch fell to 7-6-2 and 3-3-1 in conference play. The match saw standout performances from NWU's forwards and a well-executed defensive strategy that kept Central scoreless.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Nebraska Wesleyan set the tone early, with Zachary McClanathan scoring in the 13th minute off an assist from Samuel Schendt. The goal gave NWU an early 1-0 lead, applying pressure on Central from the get go. Maintaining momentum, the Prairie Wolves struck again in the 35th minute when Andrew Davidson found the back of the net, assisted by Nick Brickman.

In the second half, NWU continued to control possession and create opportunities. Bryan Andrade sealed the game with a goal in the 70th minute, once again assisted by Schendt, marking his second assist of the day. Goalkeeper Zachary Weis recorded his sixth shutout of the season with two saves, supported by strong defensive efforts that limited Central to just two shots on target.
