Women's Soccer Prepares for Three Match Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (September 4, 2023) Nebraska Wesleyan hosts its first home game of the 2023 season. The Prairie Wolves are set to play York University (Neb.) on Tuesday night. They will then be on the road again later in the week to play Concordia College (Minn.) on Friday night and the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday afternoon.

THE GAME
This will be the first time Nebraska Wesleyan and York University have competed against one another since 2017. At that time, the Prairie Wolves and the Panthers tied 1-1 in double overtime.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
The Prairie Wolves come back from Jacksonville, IL, with a 1-1 record. They have moved up the American Rivers Conference standings to 5th with only six games until the first conference game of the season. Major competitors for the Black and Gold this past weekend included Faith Forehand and Kaeding Rassfeld, who took significant shots for the Black and Gold. Forehand, Rassfeld, and Lauren Keith all lead the Nebraska Wesleyans with one goal each.

A LOOK AT YORK UNIVERSITY (NEB.)
The Panthers welcome back twenty returners and bring in nine freshmen for the 2023 season. They ended last season 1-15-1, finishing ranked 12th in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. Currently, they are ranked 12th in the conference standings for the 2023 season. Nebraska Wesleyan will be the fourth game of the season for the Panthers.

THE TOURNAMENT
This will be the third year in a row that the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team and the Concordia College (Minn.) women's soccer team meet in the first quarter of the season. The Prairie Wolves have a record of 1-1 against Concordia College. This is the first time the Prairie Wolves and University of Wisconsin-Stout compete.

A LOOK AT CONCORDIA COLLEGE (MINN.)
The Cobbers have twenty-four players on their roster for the 2023 season, bringing in seven freshmen. They ended last season 5-10-2, finishing ranked tenth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are currently ranked tenth in the conference. Nebraska Wesleyan will be the third game for Concordia College in the 2023 season.

A LOOK AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-STOUT
The Blue Devils introduce eleven freshmen to the 2023 roster and bring back twenty-one returners. They ended last season 2-13-3, finishing ranked 7th in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are currently ranked 7th in the conference. Nebraska Wesleyan will be the second game for the University of Wisconsin-Stout in the 2023 season.
