THE GAMES
This will be the first time the Prairie Wolves and the Dordt Defenders meet since 2021 where Nebraska Wesleyan was shutout 4-0. After Thursday's contest, the Black and Gold return to play Loras College during Wesleyan Weekend for the second conference match up of the season. Since joining of the American Rivers Conference in 2016, NWU women's soccer has never beat the Duhawks.
A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
After the first week of conference play, the Prairie Wolves are now 1-6-1 on the season and are ranked fifth in the American Rivers Conference. Averie Hike and Jena Schultz have been significant players in conference play. Averie Hike was the lone scorer for the Prairie Wolves against Luther, and Jena Schultz recorded five saves.
A LOOK AT DORDT UNIVERSITY (IOWA)
The Defenders return twenty five student-athletes and bring in six freshmen for the 2023 season. They ended last season 10-7-2 to finish fifth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Currently, Dordt is ranked eighth in the GPAC with a record of 3-4-1. Nebraska Wesleyan will be the last non-conference opponent for the Defenders until their final game of the regular season.
A LOOK AT LORAS COLLEGE
Loras brings in eleven freshmen for a total of forty players on their 2023 roster. The Duhawks finished last season with a 18-1-3 record, ending first in the American Rivers Conference and making it to the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. Currently, Loras is ranked first in the A-R-C with a 7-1 record. This will be the first road conference game for the Duhawks.
