Football Looks to Keep Rolling Against Simpson

LINCOLN, Neb. - Riding a hot start, Nebraska Wesleyan looks to keep rolling on Saturday against Simpson

MEET THE HEAD COACHES
Brian Keller is in his 28th season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He has compiled a record of 127-128. 
Reed Hoskins is 1-1 in his first season as the head coach at Simpson College.

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN HAS THE BALL
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense is off to a roaring start. Through two games, Nebraska Wesleyan has averaged an impressive 26 points per game and 371 yards per game. Quarterback Carter Terry enters the game with a 56.72 completion percentage. He has thrown for 484 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions. Joining Terry in the backfield is running back Trystin Myers. Myers has rushed for a team high 162 yards on 34 carries. He is currently averaging 4.8 yards per carry and has one rushing touchdown on the season. Nebraska Wesleyan's offense features two receivers that have over 90 yards receiving. Cole Siems leads the team in receiving yards with 147, receiving touchdowns with two, and receptions with eight. Jaheim Felder has caught six passes for 96 yards and has one touchdown on the season.

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN IS ON DEFENSE
Nebraska Wesleyan's defense has also been solid through two games, allowing 18.50 points per game and 330.5 yards per game. Max Brinker and Dominic Darrah are tied for the team lead in total tackles with 10 each. Additionally, Darrah leads the team in solo tackles with eight. Ivan Eloume leads the team with one forced fumble on the season. In the secondary, Aashton Kirkland and Jaydon Tarohocker both have one interception. Defensive lineman Chevalier Curry has also picked off one pass and has seven total tackles.

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN KICKING GAME
Jacob Martinez will be the starting long snapper. Jahrran Paces will be the holder. Henry Walter will be the starting kicker. He is yet to attempt a field goal this season and is 4-7 on PATs. Max Brinker will punt. Through two games, Brinker has punted eight times with a long of 71 yards and an average of 35.13 yards per punt. Victor Guzman will return punts. Anthony Carpenter and Cole Quercioli will return kick offs. 

WHEN SIMPSON HAS THE BALL
Through two games, Simpson has averaged 27 points per game and 448 yards per game. The Storm's quarterback is J Jenson III. He has a completion percentage of 64.1 and has thrown for 788 yards and nine touchdowns with four interceptions. In the backfield he will be accompanied by running back Desmond Alexander who has rushed for 141 yards on 45 carries for an average of 3.1 yards per carry. Alexander is yet to score a rushing touchdown. Reed Worth leads the Storm in receiving. He has caught 16 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns.

WHEN SIMPSON IS ON DEFENSE
Simpson's defense enters Saturday giving up 49 points per game and allowing 367 yards per game. Defensive back Eldred Boria leads the Storm in total tackles with 18. Boria has also picked off one pass. Lineback CJ Hangartner has recorded 15  total tackles with 2.5 of them being tackles for loss. 

SIMPSON KICKING GAME
Nathaniel Bishop will be the starting long snapper. Micah Baumhoefener is 0-1 on field goal attempts and has made 5-6 extra points. Zach Steenhoek will punt. He has punted six times with a long of 41 yards and an average of 31 yards per punt. Kevon Bickham will return punts and Danny Rankins Jr. will return kick offs.
