LINCOLN, Neb. (August 30, 2023)Â - Nebraska Wesleyan travels to Jacksonville, Ill. to begin their season with a pair of familiar opponents. The Prairie Wolves begin the weekend against Rhodes College on Saturday morning and turn around to battle Illinois College Sunday morning.

THE TOURNAMENT
For the third year in a row, the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team will play Rhodes College and Illinois College to start the season. The Prairie Wolves have a record of 0-2 against Rhodes College and a record of 2-0 against Illinois College.Â
A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
The Prairie Wolves start the season with twelve returners and seven freshmen. The team ended last season 6-9-1 to finish seventh in the American Rivers Conference. They bring back Hannah Ghannam who scored 4 goals for the P-Wolves last season. Defensively, goalie Jena Schultz returns after having 70 saves across 13 games.Â
A LOOK AT RHODES COLLEGE
The Lynx have thirty players on their roster for the season, bringing in six freshmen. They ended last season 10-4-1, finishing fifth in the Southern Athletic Association. This year, they are ranked fourth in the preseason poll. Nebraska Wesleyan will be the second game for Rhodes College in 2023.Â
A LOOK AT ILLINOIS COLLEGE
Illinois College returns with twenty-six players on the roster, bringing in twelve freshmen. They ended last season 2-13-2, sitting sixth in the Midwest Conference. They are ranked fourth in the preseason poll. Nebraska Wesleyan will be the second game for the Lady Blues this season.Â
