Softball Falls in A-R-C Tournament to Central

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Nebraska Wesleyan Softball's 2023 campaign came to an end on Friday afternoon at Clark Field in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the Prairie Wolves lost to No. 3 seed Central College in an elimination game in the American Rivers Conference Tournament.
  • One of the lowest scoring games of the tournament took place on Friday afternoon and featured a genuine pitcher's duel between Central's Morgan Shaben and Elise Warneke of Nebraska Wesleyan.
  • In the bottom of the first inning, Central scored the game's lone run.
  • Bre Schneidewind's leadoff single in the top of the third inning gave NWU a chance to tie the game, but they were unable to accomplish it.
  • With a runner on second in the top of the fourth, the Prairie Wolves threatened once again, but the inning came up empty.
  • The loss went to NWU senior Warneke to finish her 2023 season with a record of 17-10 in the circle for the Black and Gold. She went the distance allowing just one run on five hits.
