HOW IT HAPPENED

• Simpson left Snyder Arena with an 73-41 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday.
• The Storm brought lots of intensity on both offense and defense in the first quarter which helped them build a 16-5 lead. Simpson's offensive output was aided by two three pointers while the defense held Nebraska Wesleyan to just 20% shooting. 
• Nebraska Wesleyan responded in the second by shooting 70% from the floor and outscoring Simpson 20-19. Half of the Prairie Wolves 20 points came from Sarah Hultquist. Nebraska Wesleyan trailed 35-25 at halftime.
• Simpson doubled down on their defensive efforts in the third quarter and held the Prairie Wolves to just five points. Offensively the Storm shot 52% from the floor. This helped them open their lead heading into the final quarter
• Nebraska Wesleyan played better defense in the fourth and held Simpson to just 23% shooting but were not able to close the gap.
