HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball began their 2023 Snyder Classic run with a 101-72 win over Elmira College.
• The Prairie Wolves began the game with back-to-back-to-back long balls from Jack Groteke, Peter Lash, and Carter Glenn. Groteke continued to find shots to fall for NWU as he scored 14 of the Black and Gold's first 26 points, 26-20.
• The Soaring Eagles were unable to get stops defensively and found themselves down 19 at halftime, 53-34.
• At the break, Nebraska Wesleyan was shooting 47% from the field and 9-23 from three. Jack Groteke led all scorers with 20 points.
• The Prairie Wolves picked up where they left off offensively and opened up the second half with a 27-5 run. Coach Wellman's team made strides defensively, forcing 10 turnovers throughout the course of the stretch, 80-39.
• With a substantial lead, NWU went deep into their rotation and played all 18 active student-athletes. Nebraska Wesleyan's bench outscored Elmira's bench 39-28.
• The Black and Gold jumped back into the win column with Friday's win and moved to 3-1 (0-1) on the year.
