Men's Basketball Triumphs Over Colorado College

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • In an outstanding offensive display, junior Jack Groeteke led the Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball team to a 75-67 triumph over Colorado College, marking a successful start to their 2023-2024 season. 
  • Securing their first road win, the Prairie Wolves highlighted a diverse range of talent on the court, with nine players contributing points to the boxscore. 
  • The Prairie Wolves held onto the lead for the first half, surrendering it only in the last 0.01 seconds when the Tigers secured a 3-pointer, giving them a 34-35 lead. 
  • In a spirited comeback, the Black and Gold relentlessly battled for the remainder of the game. The Prairie Wolves asserted dominance with eight points off of turnovers in the second half. 
  • Groeteke led the Prairie Wolves with 20 points, while Peter Lash added 18 points and a NWU best, seven rebounds. NWU outscored the Tigers 17-8 on second chance points. 
  • Saturday's victory propels Nebraska Wesleyan to a 1-0 record for the 2023-2024 season.
