Football Finishes Home Slate Against Wartburg

Lincoln, Neb.- Nebraska Wesleyan will close its home slate on Saturday, November 4th, against Wartburg.

MEET THE HEAD COACHES
Brian Keller is in his 28th season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He has compiled a record of 129-132.
Chris Winter is in his third season as the head coach at Wartburg. He has compiled a record of 29-4.

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN HAS THE BALL
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense enters Saturday averaging 22.50 points per game and 330.6 yards per game. Quarterback Carter Terry enters the game with a 59.78% completion percentage. He has thrown for 1244 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Nebraska Wesleyan's offense features two talented running backs in Nathan Athouris and Trystin Myers. Through eight games, Athouris has rushed for a team high 427 yards on 102 carries. He is currently averaging 4.2 yards per carry and has five rushing touchdowns on the season. Despite missing two games,Trystin Myers has put up solid numbers. In six games, Myers has ran for 258 yards on 68 carries. He is averaging 3.8 yards per carry and has scored two rushing touchdowns. Cole Siems has been Nebraska Wesleyan's top receiving target this season, with 42 receptions, going for 782 yards and nine touchdowns. 

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN IS ON DEFENSE
Nebraska Wesleyan's defense has allowed an average of 35.63 points per game and 418.9 yards per game. Max Brinker leads the team in total tackles with 43. Brinker and Dominic Darrah are tied for the team lead in solo tackles with 27. Hunter Zentz leads the team in forced fumbles with two. Aashton Kirkland leads the team in interceptions with two. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN KICKING GAME
Henry Walter will be the starting kicker. Walter is 1-3 on field goals and is 19-24 on PATs. Max Brinker will punt. Through eight games, Brinker has punted 41 times with a long of 71 yards and an average of 34.41 yards per punt.

WHEN WARTBURG HAS THE BALL
Wartburg's offense enters Saturday averaging 42.89 points per game and 452.4 yards per game. Quarterback Nile McLaughlin enters the game with a 58.94% completion percentage. He has thrown for 2157 yards with 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Joining McLaughlin in the backfield is running back Hunter Clasen. Through nine games, Clasen has rushed for a team high 1153 yards on 181 carries. He is currently averaging 6.4 yards per carry and has 17 rushing touchdowns on the season. Wartburg's offense also features two players with over 500 yards receiving. Carter Henry has been Wartburg's top receiving target this season, with 31 receptions, going for 521 yards and three touchdowns. Thor Maakestad has caught 26 passes for 512 yards and four touchdowns. 

WHEN WARTBURG IS ON DEFENSE
Wartburg's defense has allowed an average of 9.89 points per game and 240.1 yards per game. Owen Grover leads the team in total tackles with 84. Grover also leads the team in solo tackles with 40. Jordan Downing leads the team in forced fumbles with two. Parker Rochford leads the team in interceptions with six.

WARTBURG KICKING GAME
Cael O'Neil will be the starting kicker. O'Neil is 4-7 on field goals and is 39-42 on PATs. Jaxson Hoppes will punt. Through nine games Hoppes has punted 28 times with a long of 58 yards and an average of 35.93 yards per punt.
