Football Looks to Get Back on Track at Central

Lincoln, Neb.- Riding a two game losing streak, Nebraska Wesleyan travels to Central College looking to get back on track. 

GAME INFORMATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Kickoff will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21st, at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium, in Pella, Iowa. 
The Central Dutch Network will live stream the game.

MEET THE HEAD COACHES
Brian Keller is in his 28th season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He has compiled a record of 129-131. 
Jeff McMartin is in his 20th season as the head coach at Central. He has compiled a record of 152-47.

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN HAS THE BALL
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense enters Saturday averaging 25.71 points per game and 354 yards per game. Quarterback Evan Johnson enters the game with a 48.68% completion percentage. He has thrown for 523 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Nebraska Wesleyan's offense features two talented running backs in Nathan Athouris and Trystin MyersThrough seven games, Athouris has rushed for a team high 409 yards on 90 carries. He is currently averaging 4.5 yards per carry and has five rushing touchdowns on the season. After being out for two games, Trystin Myers is back in the line up. In five games, Myers has ran for 247 yards on 63 carries. He is averaging 3.9 yards per carry and has scored two rushing touchdowns. Cole Siems has been Nebraska Wesleyan's top receiving target this season, with 39 receptions, going for 755 yards and nine touchdowns. 

WHEN NEBRASKA WESLEYAN IS ON DEFENSE
Nebraska Wesleyan's defense has allowed an average of 30.43 points per game and 409.4 yards per game. Max Brinker leads the team in total tackles with 38. Brinker also leads the team in solo tackles with 26. Ivan EloumeAashton Kirkland, and Caleb Kyes have all forced one fumble. Hunter Zentz leads the team in forced fumbles with two. The Nebraska Wesleyan defense has picked off seven passes this season with Jaydon TarohockerEli MackowskiQuinn KellerMax Brinker, and Chevalier Curry each having one interception. Aashton Kirkland leads the team in interceptions with two. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN KICKING GAME
Henry Walter will be the starting kicker. Walter is 1-3 on field goals and is 19-24 on PATs. Max Brinker will punt. Through seven games, Brinker has punted 34 times with a long of 71 yards and an average of 35.53 yards per punt.

WHEN CENTRAL HAS THE BALL
Central's offense enters Saturday averaging 36.17 points per game and 409.2 yards per game. Quarterback Hunter Hoffman enters the game with a 60.24% completion percentage. He has thrown for 1010 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. Joining Hoffman in the backfield is running back Jordan Rusch. Through six games, Rusch has rushed for a 209 yards on 45 carries. He is currently averaging 4.6 yards per carry and has not scored a rushing touchdowns on the season.  Ryan Neu leads Central College in receiving with 24 receptions, going for 339 yards and eight touchdowns. 

WHEN CENTRAL IS ON DEFENSE
Central's defense has allowed an average of 17 points per game and 347.5 yards per game. Reid Pakkebier leads the team in total tackles with 49. Pakkebier also leads the team in solo tackles with 22. Nick Bandy and Ben DeMeulenaere have forced one fumble. Austin Burns leads the team in forced fumbles with two. The Central defense has picked off 14 passes this season with Josh Dennison, Gavin Hiersman, Cael Fiderlein, Reece Miller, and Austin Burns each having one interception. Gavin Smith, Brody Klein, and Ben DeMeulenaere each have two interceptions. Cameron Bannister leads the team in interceptions with three. 

CENTRAL KICKING GAME
Logan Sunvold will be the starting kicker. Sunvold is 7-9 on field goals and is 26-26 on PATs. Austin Burns will punt. Through six games, Burns has punted 26 times with a long of 43 yards and an average of 32.88 yards per punt.
