Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Earns Home Win and Extends Streak to Five

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore Peter Lash had 26 points and eight rebounds to lead the Prairie Wolves past Coe College, 87-73.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan has now won five straight games and nine of the last eleven. This is the Prairie Wolves' first win against Coe since February 29, 2020.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan went inside early and often to build a 44-29 lead through 20 minutes, highlighted by 16 points by Peter Lash.
  • Things got interesting four minutes into the second half. A collision in the paint and an offensive foul call started the adversity. Shortly after, the Prairie Wolves were called for two technical fouls and Coe capitalized hitting four free throws and a three-pointer in a matter of 15 seconds.
  • In the middle of the second half, Jack Groeteke came off the bench and provided a spark scoring eight straight for the Prairie Wolves.
  • A putback dunk by Groeteke with 5:04 left, got Snyder Arena on their feet, and extended the Prairie Wolf lead to eight.
  • The Prairie Wolves put the Kohawks to bed by hitting their free throws down the stretch. The Black and Gold were a perfect 18-18 from the line on the night.

  • "In the second half we faced a little adversity, but we got back into the game. I was really proud of how we put that behind us and focus on what we needed to do and extend the lead."
