Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Falls Short in Snyder Classic Opener to North Central

How It Happened
  • North Central University defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University 82-74 on the opening night of the Snyder Classic.
  • The Rams raise their record to 5-2 while Nebraska Wesleyan falls to 1-3.
  • Micah Filer led North Central with 31 points and seven rebounds on 8-of-19 shooting.
  • Peter Lash had 23 points and seven rebounds for Nebraska Wesleyan, while Carter Glenn (20), and Landon Torneten (13) also scored in double-figures.
  • In the first 12 minutes, there were two ties and three lead changes between the sides as Glenn got the Prairie Wolves hot early with six points. With only a little more than five minutes left in the first half, the Rams gained some momentum, expanded their advantage to 25-21, and forced a Prairie Wolf timeout. The rest of the half was a battle as the two programs hit the locker rooms tied at 32.
  • The Prairie Wolves got out to a lead in the second half, but the Rams countered with a 13-0 run to take a nine-point lead with eight minutes remaining. Just when it looked like Nebraska Wesleyan was going to make a late comeback, the Rams would make crucial baskets and ultimately put the game away.
