LINCOLN, Neb. (September 5, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan (2-1) had its seven match non-conference winning streak snapped with a 3-1 defeat to Rhodes College (2-0) at Abel Stadium. After winning its first two games, the loss is the first for NWU in 2021.

The Lynx broke a scoreless match in the 40th minute of the first-half on a penalty kick. After the halftime break, the Prairie Wolves regrouped and tied the match in the 54th minute. Sabrina Ochterbeck knocked in the equalize, the goal was Ochterbeck's first of the season. However, Rhodes College had an answer eight minutes later then added an insurance goal in the 76th minute. 

NWU was limited to just four shots with three shots on goal in the loss. Four different Prairie Wolves were credited with the shots. Leslie Borges tallied seven saves in net for NWU. Borges and Simone Collins each logged 90 minutes of action in the contest.
