NWU Wraps Up 31st Annual Greeno/Dirksen Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. (September 18, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's cross country competed in the 31st annual Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln. The Prairie Wolves placed seventh in both the men's and women's races in their first meet of the 2021 season.

The NWU men's team was led by Norbert Weijenberg with a time of 25:55.9 to place 54th out of 215 runners. Colby Karr ran a 26:36.1 to finish in the top 80 of the field. Kellen McLaughlin had a time of 25:50.8 to trail Weijenberg and Karr. Finian Herbert recorded a time of 28:35.1 with Anthony Krick just a second behind to round out the top five runners for Nebraska Wesleyan.

In the women's race, Gabby Thomas led the way with a time of 18:47.0 and placed 46th out of 206 runners. McKenna Marsh ran the course in a time of 19:21.7 to finish inside the top 75. Josephine Blatny had a time of 20:37.3 and Claire Kallhoff recorded a time of 20:42.3. Thea Seibel ran a time of 20:50.6 to round out the top five NWU runners.

The Greeno/Dirksen Invitational field consisted of teams from all three NCAA Divisions, NAIA, and NJCAA.
