Luther Stops Prairie Wolves

LINCOLN, Neb. (April 10, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team (2-3, 2-3 A-R-C) was defeated by Luther (3-1, 3-1 A-R-C), 3-1, at Abel Stadium.

NWU wasted little time getting on the board with a goal in just the second minute of play. Megan Cooper netted her second goal of the season when she drilled a shot on target off of a pass from Suzie McDonald and Kaeding Rassfeld. It was the first goal given up by the Norse since March 30.

Luther got the equalizer in the 20th minute before knocking in the game-winning goal in the 34th minute. The Norse added an insurance goal in the 66th minute.

Nebraska Wesleyan tallied seven shots in the match with six coming on goal. McDonald led the Prairie Wolves with two shots on goal as Cooper and Simone Collins each added one shot on goal.  Leslie Borges was credited with five saves in the net for NWU. The defensive backline held Luther to its second-lowest shot total of the season.
