Women’s Tennis Blanks Dubuque, Falls To Loras


DUBUQUE, Iowa (October 9, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis split a Saturday doubleheader. The Prairie Wolves started the day with a, 9-0, shutout over Dubuque for its first win of the season. In its second match, NWU fell, 8-1, to Loras.

The Prairie Wolves wasted little time racing out to an early match lead against the Spartans, sweeping all three doubles points. Brooke Sailer and Ella Ford won at No. 1 Doubles, 8-4. Addi Duranski and Kailey Jay-Kissler cruised to victory, 8-1, in No. 2 Doubles. No. 3 Doubles was dominated by Crystal Craft and Carley Rubenking, 8-0.

Sailer had no issues in a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 Singles. Ford easily won at No. 2 Singles, 6-2, 6-1, and Craft controlled No. 3 Singles, 6-1, 6-3. In No. 4 Singles, Duranski picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory and Jay-Kissler earned a 6-1, 6-2 win in No. 5 Singles. Carley Rubenking took No. 6 Singles, 6-2, 6-0.

Against Loras, NWU tallied its win in singles action. Sailer won the match at No. 1 Singles, 6-3, 6-3. The Prairie Wolves nearly earned points at No. 3 Singles and No. 4 Singles. Craft fell in a tough three-set match at No. 3 Singles and Duranski dropped a heartbreaker in three sets as well. Jay-Kissler and Duranski also fell in a hard-fought doubles match, 8-7.
