Upset Bid Comes Up Just Short In Double Overtime of A-R-C Quarterfinals

DUBUQUE, Iowa (October 30, 2021) - The sixth-seeded Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team's upset bid over third-seeded Loras fell just short in double overtime, 3-2.

Caleb Vos kept the Prairie Wolves season alive in the 76th minute. Vos sank the equalizer off of a pass from Alex Kohler. In the first overtime, the Prairie Wolves kept swing as they had a one shot advantage in shots taken but could not find the game-winner. However, the Duhawks ruined the upset bid with a goal in the 102nd minute.

Loras scored first in the match but Nebraska Wesleyan answered back with a goal in the 57th minute from Logan Lawrence. In the 71st minute, LC took the lead back until Vos's equalizer.

Andrew Davidson and Kyle Hansen both recorded shots on goal for NWU. Davidson, Hanson, and Lawrence each tallied two shots. Zachary Weis recorded eight saves in net for the Prairie Wolves.

Nebraska Wesleyan was making its first appearance in the A-R-C Championship Quarterfinal since 2018.
