Hot Shooting Prairie Wolves Blow Past Dutch 115-69

Lincoln, Neb, -- 11th-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan shot a blistering 71.2 percent from the field as they went on the road and rolled past Central College 115-69 in American Rivers Conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon in Pella, Iowa.
 
The Prairie Wolves missed only seven shots in the first half, and only one inside the 3-point line going 25-32 from the field and 10-16 on 3-point attempts to jump out to a 64-36 advantage at the break.
 
NWU didn't cool off in the second half shooting 64.7 percent from the field to score 51 points in the second half on their way to the highest scoring game of the season.  The Prairie Wolves broke out of their 3-point shooting slump going 13-23 from long range as they remained perfect in conference play at 8-0 and moved to 15-2 overall.
 
Central actually led by two points four minutes into the game, then the Prairie Wolves went on a 22-0 run over the next five minutes to get ahead by 20 points and they never looked back.
 
Guards Nate Schimonitz and Jack Hiller stole the show for the Prairie Wolves missing only five shots between them and combining to score 59 total points.
 
Schimonitz was 13-15 from the field, making a season-high four 3-pointers with seven assists to finish with 32 points.  He was 4-4 on 3-pointers and 4-4 at the free throw line for his second straight 30-point performance.
 
Hiller was just as impressive making 5-8 on his 3-pointers and 11-14 overall to score 27 points.  Hiller added six steals in the game equaling his season-high for points.
 
Clay Reimers nearly completed a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, but did finish with his third double-double of the year.
 
Central drops their eighth straight game to fall to 4-12 overall and 1-6 in the league.  Caden Mauck led the way with 15 points for the Dutch.
