Pointers Hand Prairie Wolves First Loss in Home Opener

Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan allowed their first goal of the season and unfortunately that one goal would cost the Prairie Wolves their undefeated record as University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point came into Abel Stadium and defeated NWU 1-0 on Friday night (Sept. 13).

NWU had outscored their first four opponents by a combined score of 21-0, but they were unable to find the back of the net in their home debut.

The Pointers scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute when Kassidy Spees converted a cross scoring the first goal against the Prairie Wolves all year.  That would be the lone goal for the entire match as neither team was able create many offensive threats.

UW-Stevens Point out shot NWU 13-5 with eight of their shots on goal.

Nebraska Wesleyan will look to rebound and get back on the winning track on Sunday when they visit Westminster College to face Coach Dyson's former team in Fulton, Mo.
