WAVERLY, Iowa – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis team saw their 2018-19 season come to a close on Friday afternoon (April 26) when the 6
th-seeded Prairie Wolves lost 5-0 to 3
rd-seed Coe College in the first round of the American Rivers Conference Women's Tennis Postseason Tournament that was played in Waverly, Iowa.
NWU ends the season with a 2-16 overall record.
Coe won all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. The Kohawks won 8-0 at No. and No. 3 doubles and earned an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Singles matches at No. 1 and No. 6 ended quickly with the Kohawks winning 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets to complete the five needed points to end the dual match allowing Coe to advance to the tournament semifinals.
This was the first season for the Prairie Wolves women's tennis team under Coach
Fungai Tongoona and NWU qualified for their first conference postseason tournament.
