LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis team won their second match of the year on Saturday afternoon as the Prairie Wolves took down Sterling College, 6-3, at Knight Fieldhouse on the NWU campus.
Sterling had two open spots giving the Prairie Wolves two points for forfeits, but NWU also won three of five singles matches and one of the two doubles matches to earn the win.
Jordan Pieper and
Nathan Seaton won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles over Nick McCreight and Blake Gadsen, while
Adam Olson and
Hale Breit fell 8-1 in their match at No. 1 doubles.
During singles play, Sterling won the No. 1 and No. 2 matches, with the Prairie Wolves prevailing at the 3-5 spot.
Jared Scherling won 8-0 over McCreight at No. 3 singles.
Caleb Thiessen was an 8-1 winner at No. 4 singles and
Angeleau Scott won 9-8, 7-5 at No. 5 singles.
The Prairie Wolves are now 2-10 overall
