BVU Bats Too Much For Prairie Wolves

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Buena Vista pounded out 27 hits in two games as the Beavers swept past Nebraska Wesleyan in an IIAC softball doubleheader on Tuesday night in Storm Lake, Iowa.  BVU won the first game 8-2, then took the nightcap 12-5 to complete the sweep.

NWU did get one additional run in the seventh inning as Jesse Briley reached on an error and eventually scored on a ground out by Shipley.

Game two got off to a very shaky start for the Prairie Wolves as the Beavers jumped out early scoring five runs in the bottom of the first.  BVU had four hits and took advantage of three Prairie Wolves errors in the inning.

The Beavers built the lead up to 10-0 after only two innings of play.  Finally, NWU got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning.  The Prairie Wolves scored five runs on four hits, with the biggest hit coming on a 3-run double by Destiny IndraAlyssa Curry doubled and Shipey had an RBI single to cut the Beavers lead in half.  That would be all the Prairie Wolves could get as BVU went on to earn the 12-5 win.
