Box Score LINCOLN -- Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team had a scoring explosion against a short-handed Mount Marty College team on Saturday night as the Prairie Wolves blew past the Lancers 16-0.
The Prairie Wolves scored early and often jumping out to a 9-0 lead at halftime. They added seven more goals in the second half for the most goals in the Coach Flintham era (school record is 33 goals.)
Sophomore
Georgia Straka was just one goal short of the school record as she made five goals in the first half alone.
Katelin Blosser and
Natalie Graves each scored 2 goals in the match, while
Syd Nelson,
Carah Criner,
Angie Gallo,
Hallie Schimenti,
Amber White and
Shannon Jerram all got into the action with a goal.
Nebraska Wesleyan attempted 34 total shots, compared to just one shot for the Lancers.
NWU improves to 2-2 on the season, while Mount Marty is 0-1 as they forfeited their first game on the schedule.
The Prairie Wolves are right back in action on Sunday morning when they host Cardinal Stritch at 11 am.
