Football Team Returns to Action Saturday at Simpson

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team returns to action this Saturday (Oct. 29) to face Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Simpson College.  Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Storm is set for 1 pm at Buxton Stadium in Indianola, Iowa.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan is coming off a bye week with a 2-5 overall record, and a 1-4 record in conference play.  NWU lost to Central 43-17 on Oct. 15 in their last game.
 
Simpson College is now 3-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play.  The Storm shutout Loras College, 30-0 last Saturday to post their first shutout victory since 2012.
 
The Prairie Wolves enter the home stretch of the 2016 season with three games remaining on the schedule.  NWU is looking to win out and finish with a .500 overall record.  Simpson also has three games remaining on their schedule and looks to post a winning season under first year coach Matt Jeter.
 
This is the first time that NWU and Simpson will meet on the football field dating back to the 1985 season.
