Lincoln, Neb. -- Augustana College ruined the 2015 homecoming game for the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team as the Vikings defeated the Prairie Wolves 4-0 on Saturday morning at Abel Stadium.
The Vikings, who improved to 6-1 on the season, put together an impressive performance against NWU. Augustana scored three goals in the first half and added another late in the second half.
Augustana's first goal came by Somer Druszkowski in the 18th minute. She scored on a good assist by Lincoln native Grace Iaquinta. The Vikings next goal came much easier as the NWU goalkeeper deflected a ball that went directly to Jessa Rizzo who kicked the ball in the unattended net. Less than two minutes later, the Vikings scored their third goal of the half as Alexandria Serra got a breakaway from Rizzo.
Late in the second half, Augustana got the final goal of the match as Jordyn Sundberg added the fourth goal of the match.
NWU had very few opportunities on the day with just four total shot attempts compared to 17 for the Vikings.
