Long Time Rivals NWU-Hastings Meet in GPAC Finale

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Wesleyan football team closes out the 2015 season on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 14) when they host in-state rival Hastings College in Great Plains Athletic Conference action.  Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Broncos is set for 1 pm.

NWU and Hastings have identical 4-5 overall and 3-5 GPAC records headed into Saturday's clash with the winning team securing a .500 record.

Saturday's game also has special meeting as it will be the final time Nebraska Wesleyan plays a football game as a member of the GPAC and NAIA.  Fittingly, the Prairie Wolves take on their longest running rivalry opponent in the final game.  NWU and Hastings will be playing for the 102nd time, as the Broncos hold a four-game advantage in the series that began in 1908.

Expect a close finish as six of the past seven games between NWU and Hastings have been decided by one touchdown or less.

Nebraska Wesleyan is coming off the largest comeback victory in school history as they scored 32 unanswered points and erased a 26-point deficit in a 44-38 upset of #22 Northwestern.

The Broncos have won two straight GPAC games after dropping five of their first six.

Saturday's winner can clinch a 6th place finish in the league standings and a .500 season.

Fans not attending this final GPAC game for the Prairie Wolves can watch the game live via webcast from the NWU Sports Network or listen live on KFOR 1240AM/103.3 FM (kfornow.com).
