LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team will travel to Seward, Neb., Saturday (Oct. 10) to face GPAC rival Concordia University. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m. (CDT). It is homecoming on the campus of Concordia University this weekend.
Nebraska Wesleyan is off to a 2-3 start to the season, with a 1-3 record in conference play. The Prairie Wolves suffered a 44-7 setback to Doane College last Saturday (Oct. 3).
Concordia is 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the GPAC. The Bulldogs came off their bye week to defeat Dordt College 34-21 on the road in Sioux Center, Iowa last Saturday.
The Prairie Wolves offense will be put to the test this week facing a Bulldog defense that leads the NAIA in four different statistical categories including total defense. NWU has been held to just one offensive touchdown in all three of their losses, while the Concordia defense is giving up only 12.8 points a game.
Last season, the Prairie Wolves rallied back to defeat Concordia 37-34 in overtime for a win on Nebraska Wesleyan's homecoming game. Two years ago, these two teams met in the NAIA National Game of the Week for the Bulldog's homecoming and the home team came away with a 19-3 win.
Saturday's game can be heard live on KFOR 1240AM or 103.3FM with Dick Janda calling the action. It can also be heard online at kfornow.comÂ
