LINCOLN, Neb. -- 17th-ranked Hastings College remained undefeated in conference play as the GPAC leading Broncos shutout Nebraska Wesleyan 3-0 in women's soccer action on Wednesday night (Oct. 21) at Abel Stadium.
After winning five straight, NWU has now dropped two in a row to the top two teams in the league standings. The Prairie Wolves are 8-6 overall and 5-3 in GPAC play. Hastings is now 11-4 and 8-0 in GPAC.
It didn't take long for the Broncos to strike as they scored just 1:35 into the match. Megan Kruse found the back of the net as she connected from right in front of the net.
Later in the half, Taylor Banark took a corner kick from Kruse to score the second goal of the match and make the score 2-0 at intermission.
Hastings added another goal in the second half as Emily Arrigo collected the rebound in front of the goal and hit the back of the net.
The Broncos finished with 16 total shots in the match, compared to just three for the Prairie Wolves.
