Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. -- Seven different players scored a goal as the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team exploded for nine total goals as they shutout Mount Marty College, 9-0, in GPAC women's soccer action on Saturday night (Sept. 27) at Abel Stadium.
Ashlee Slade got the scoring started in the second minute of the game and the goals didn't stop coming the rest of the match.
Shannon Surber scored a pair of goals within a three minute stretch of the match as NWU went ahead 3-0 just over 12 minutes into the match.
The Prairie Wolves added two more goals before intermission as
Katelin Blosser scored two straight goals, including one with just 15 seconds left before half.
In the second half, the scoring did not stop for the Prairie Wolves.
Amber Johnson scored on a beautiful cross from
Ashlee Slade and
Lyndsey Harpenau got a goal in the 63rd minute.
Rachael Granville took a corner kick in the 72nd minute and promptly kicked the ball directly into the goal for the eighth goal of the match. The final goal also came on a corner from Granville as
Shelby Knorr came screaming in and hit a header into the goal.
NWU had 29 total shots, compared to just four for Mount Marty.
