STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Nebraska Wesleyan got its fourth shutout victory of the season on Wednesday night (Sept. 10) as the Prairie Wolves went on the road to blank Buena Vista University 1-0 in NCAA III women's soccer action in Storm Lake, Iowa.

NWU moves to 4-1 overall, and the Prairie Wolves handed Buena Vista their first loss of the season as the Beavers drop to 3-1-1.

Shannon Surber got the lone goal for Nebraska Wesleyan as she scored off a rebounded shot in the box in the 78th minute.

NWU controlled most of the match as they attempted 28 total shots, compared to just six for BVU.  Eleven of the NWU shots were on goal, but they were kept from scoring by the BVU goalkeeper Rachel Novotny.  The Wolves finally got on the board as Natalie Graves attempted a shot that was blocked, then Surber was able to get the rebounded ball in the open net.

Madi Francis and the strong NWU defense kept Buena Vista scoreless as they recorded their fourth shutout of the season and have allowed just one goal all season.
