LINCOLN, Neb. -- Coming off their much needed bye week, the Nebraska Wesleyan University football team returns to action this Saturday in the final home game of the 2014 season. The Prairie Wolves will host Dakota Wesleyan University in GPAC football action on Senior Day at Abel Stadium.
NWU (2-5, 2-4 GPAC) wants to rebound from their disappointing loss to Dordt College on Oct. 18 and end the 2014 season on a positive note with their final three games of the year.
Dakota Wesleyan (6-2, 4-2 GPAC) is ranked No. 19 in this week's NAIA Top 25 poll and has aspirations of making the postseason for the first time since the 1992 season. The Tigers two losses were to ranked teams as they have yet to lose to an unranked team this year. This is also just the third road game of the year for the Tigers.
NWU has never lost to DWU in Lincoln as the Prairie Wolves are 8-0 all-time against the Tigers in home games. The teams have split the past six games 3-3 with each team winning on their home field.
It will be Senior Day for the NWU football program as 21 seniors will be honored and introduced on teh field before kickoff of Saturday's contest.
