Prairie Wolves Bomb the Beavers to Improve to 2-0

Box Score Nebraska Wesleyan scored four first half goals and added three more in the second period as the Prairie Wolves improved to 2-0 with an impressive 7-1 victory over Buena Vista University on Wednesday night (Sept. 4) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.Sophomore Amber Johnson scored two goals, including a penalty kick in the first half to lead the Prairie Wolves scoring. It was the first of two penalty kick goals in the match for NWU as Ashlee Slade added a penalty kick goal of her own in the second period.It didn't take NWU long to get on the board as Jenna Herse connected on a deep shot in the fifth minute as the Prairie Wolves scored on their first shot of the match. Their second shot was just as effective as Makensie Thaller scored off a corner kick from Rachael Granville to make NWU 2-2 on shots converted to goals.On the other end of the field, Buena Vista was held at bay as they managed just one shot the entire match, but it was converted into a goal as Samantha Richards scored in the first half to make the score 4-1.Other goals for NWU was a first half goal by Bayleigh Collins off a corner kick. In the second period, Maggie Bianco scored her second goal of the year off an assist from Mia Keady to complete the scoring.Nebraska Wesleyan will look to remain undefeated this weekend as they travel north to Wisconsin for a pair of matches.
