Box Score Nebraska Wesleyan remained one of three teams in the Great Plains Athletic Conference without a loss as the Prairie Wolves defeated Mount Marty College, 2-0, on Saturday (Sept. 28) in GPAC women's soccer action in Yankton, S.D.
The Prairie Wolves are now 5-1-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play as they sit atop the GPAC standings.
Both the Prairie Wolves goals came early in the first half and within less than a minute and a half of each other.
Amber Johnson got the scoring rolling for Nebraska Wesleyan as she scored in the 12th minute off an assist from
Makensie Thaller. Johnson's goal was her seventh of the season as she now is second in the GPAC with seven goals in eight matches.
Only 1:15 later the Prairie Wolves struck again, this time with
Shannon Surber scoring off an assist from Johnson.
That would be all the scoring that NWU would need as the Prairie Wolves allowed just three total shots to the Lancers.
NWU returns home Wednesday night to face Doane College.
