Box Score Nebraska Wesleyan ended the 2013 season with win number 10 as the Prairie Wolves defeated Southern Virginia University 1-0 in double overtime at the Provision Independent Tournament Championship in Chicago, Ill.
Ashlee Slade scored the game-winner for the Prairie Wolves in the second overtime period in the 106th minute as NWU finishes the year 10-3-6 overall.
Consistent with the rest of the season, the NWU women dominated the shot attempt total over their opponent but was unable to get the ball in the goal. NWU had 19 shot attempts, with Southern Virginia getting just five.
Madi Francis recorded another shutout in goal for NWU with two saves.
Slade, who led the Prairie Wolves in scoring, got the game-winner at the 106:50 mark of the game to prevent another 0-0 tie for the NWU women.
