3-1 Win Gives NWU Women 3rd Place GPAC Finish

Nebraska Wesleyan ended their regular season with a 3-1 victory at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa in GPAC women's soccer action.

With the victory, the Prairie Wolves finish 5-2-3 in conference play to end the season in third place in the GPAC standings.  NWU is 9-3-6 overall and will play one more match next weekend in the Provisional Independent Tournament in Chicago, Illinois.

NWU scored the first goal of the match as freshman Maggie Bianco scored the first of her two goals in the 20th minute.  Dordt College, who ended the year without a victory, answered with a goal of their own in the 29th minute with Sarah Byron scoring a goal.

The match remained tied 1-1 at intermission.  Early in the second half, Bianco struck again as she scored her second goal of the match in the 52nd minute.

Megan Witcig added an insurance goal for the Prairie Wolves in the 76th minute making the score 3-1 and that would be the final score.

NWU dominated the majority of the match as they had 20 shot attempts to just five for the Defenders.
