Ashlee Slade scored a pair of first half goals and that proved to be enough as the Nebraska Wesleyan University women's soccer team went on the road to defeat Coe College, 2-1, on Monday (Oct. 21).
NWU improves to 8-3-4 overall and Coe falls to 3-12-1.
Nebraska Wesleyan had control for the majority of the match as they held Coe College to just one total shot, and none in the first half.
Slade got the scoring in the first ten minutes of the match as she scored in the 9th minute off an assist from Thaller to put the Prairie Wolves up 1-0. The Thaller-Slade connection happened again with less than four minutes remaining in the first half as Slade scored at 41:42.
The Prairie Wolves led 2-0 at halftime with 11 total shots, while Coe had not attempted one shot in the first 45 minutes. The lone Coe shot of the second half was by Danica Mason in the 82nd minute that ended up being their lone goal.
