Jen Dyson enters her third season as the head coach of the Nebraska Wesleyan University women's soccer team in 2020.
In two years with the Prairie Wolves, Dyson has compiled a 20-14-0 overall record.
Last year, Dyson guided NWU to a 12-6 overall record. The 12 wins were the most by a Prairie Wolves women's soccer team since 2006. They started the year 11-1 and earned a spot in the NCAA III North Region rankings. On the year, NWU outscored their opponents 40-12 with nine shutout wins.
During her first season leading the Prairie Wolves women’s soccer program, Dyson led the team to an 8-8 overall record and a 2-6 mark in American Rivers Conference play. The Prairie Wolves started the Dyson era with a 3-0 record, only the second time in the past 15 years that NWU women’s soccer started the year 3-0.
She has had four players earn All-Conference honors, including two First-Team recognition. Dyson has coached an All-Region selection and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
Dyson came to NWU from Westminster College where she served as the head women’s soccer coach from 2009-17. She led Westminster to four straight winning seasons and four straight conference tournament appearances.
In 2015 she led the Bluejays to the program’s first ever NCAA III Tournament berth after winning the SLIAC Tournament title. Westminster had just one winning season the previous ten years before Dyson took over and she turned the program around leading them to four straight winning seasons.
Dyson was named the SLIAC Coach of the Year in 2015. During her tenure she coached 17 All-Conference players, including the two-time Defensive Player of the Year and 2017 Offensive Player of the Year. She also had 17 players recognized as Academic All-Conference.
Prior to Westminster, she served as a graduate assistant women’s soccer coach at Drury University from 2007-09 while completing her graduate degree in Middle School Education. In her first year the team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA II Tournament and won the conference title.
Dyson played collegiately at Drury University appearing in 73 matches during her career. She graduated in 2006 with a degree in Psychology.
A Lincoln, Neb., native, Dyson graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School.
