Coach CJ Roberts is in her first year as an assistant volleyball coach for the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves. She is the Director of Operations for Rise Volleyball Club? and the Co-Founder and Tournament Director of the Pacific Northwest Summer Volleyball Classic, the largest summer high school tournament in the PNW. Roberts plays a key role in recruiting across all of her athletic positions and has helped over 50 athletes find the right fit to continue both their athletic and academic careers.
Coach Roberts attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX where she played 3 seasons from 2015-2017 while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and would later go on to receive a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Northwestern State University. Roberts was a middle blocker for PVAMU after spending her freshman year as a 6-rotation outside hitter. As a freshman, she was named SWAC Newcomer of the Year, made it into every match for the Panthers and was the only player to eclipse over 100 kills and 100 digs during the season. While competing at PVAMU, she ranked top 5 in hitting for the SWAC all 3 years and received All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors.
Roberts has coached for over 10 years and is currently a Head Coach for MadFrog Volleyball (TX), a top 5 club in the nation. Prior to MadFrog, she coached at Umpqua Community College (UCC) in Roseburg, OR. She ended her time with UCC with an overall record of 33-32 (.507). In her first season in 2022, she led them to their most successful season since 2012, with an overall record of 19-15 (.559) and a conference record of 8-8 (.500). Prior to UCC, Coach Roberts took a small break from collegiate coaching and helped launch a volleyball program at Providence Academy (Rogers, AR) where she was the Head Junior High Coach and Assistant High School Coach for 2 seasons.
Before her move to Arkansas, Coach Roberts spent two seasons as the Assistant Volleyball Coach for Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. During her time with NSU, she helped lead them to 2 conference tournament appearances and helped NSU earn 1 of the 20 at-large bids to the 2019 NIVC Tournament. Coach Roberts ended her time at NSU guiding athletes to many accolades including 5 All-SLC selections, 2019 SLC Player of the Year, 4 All-Academic SLC recognitions, 5 All-Louisiana Selections, and 2019 LSWA Player of the Year. Roberts final record at NSU was 32-28 Overall and 19-3 Conference.
