Emily Holmes enters her second season as head coach of the Nebraska Wesleyan women’s golf program in 2018-19.
In her first season leading the Prairie Wolves, she helped the team to a 6th place finish at the Iowa Conference Championships. She had one player earn All-Conference recognition at the championship meet.
NWU also won their own fall meet in September for the team’s first title under Coach Holmes.
The Grant, Neb., native was a three-year member of the women's golf team at University of Nebraska-Kearney. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2012.
In high school, Holmes was a four-year member of the Perkins County golf team, helping the squad to two state tournaments. In 2006 she finished in a tie for 10th place at the Class C State Tournament.
Holmes has worked as a junior golf league camp instructor and coordinator for the past six years. She also works as a registered nurse at Bryan Health in Lincoln, Neb. In addition, she is a medical/surgical RN in the US Navy Nurse Corps Reserve.
She is married to Eric Holmes, who was a tennis player and graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan.
