Terry Lange


Terry Lange has served as the Head Coach of the Nebraska Wesleyan University Spirit Squad since 2002.
 
As head coach of the Spirit Squad, Lange's squads have won numerous awards at conference competitions. In 2020, NWU won the Game Day Division, Jazz Division and Hip-Hop Division titles at the American Rivers Conference Invitational. That year, the Prairie Wolves also received a runner-up finish in the Pom Dance division. The 2021 season saw NWU finish second in the Gameday Division at the A-R-C Invitational, the Gold Rush Dance Team did not compete due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic. 

Additionally under Lange's leadership, NWU won the 2014 GPAC Championship in the Cheer division then followed up the next year with a GPAC Championship in the dance division.

A longtime coach at the university, Lange has been working for the NWU athletic department since 1996. He started his career at NWU as an assistant coach for both the softball and women's basketball programs.  He worked with the softball program from 1996-2002, serving as interim head coach for one year.  While working as an assistant with the women's basketball program from 1996-2004, Lange helped the team earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship during the 2001 season and was part of the two winningest seasons in program history.

Lange was inducted into the Nebraska Wesleyan Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004, earning the Spirit of the Plainsmen Award.
